Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a cultivation practice that aims at improving one’s mind and body. Rooted in ancient Chinese cultivation traditions, this practice has two elements: 1) upgrading one’s mind through moral teachings, and 2) improving one’s physical health through exercises and meditation.
Falun Dafa’s core principles are summarized by three words: Zhen, Shan, Ren (Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance). These are the fundamental characteristics of the universe.
The founder, Mr. Li Hongzhi, introduced Falun Dafa to the public in 1992. Three years later in 1995, he published Zhuan Falun (Turning the Law Wheel) in China. The book became a huge success – it made the top selling list in 1996. By 1999, nearly 100 million people were practicing Falun Dafa. Today, Zhuan Falun is available in over 40 languages and read by millions around the world.
Together with Zhuan Falun, Mr. Li Hongzhi’s lectures, articles, essays and other writings have been compiled into 51 books, including Falun Gong, The Great Way of Spiritual Perfection, Zhuan Falun Volume II, Essentials for Further Advancement, Hong Yin (The Grand Verses), and more. Over 40 of these books are available in English.
